What are the background requirements needed to work on a military base?

You will be required to undergo a background investigation prior to working on any Military installation. This background investigation is more extensive than most employment background checks due to the location of the work. Our recruiting and credentialing staff can give you more information about the requirements and will work with you through this process.

How long does it take to start working on a military base?

The process time to start working on a military base depends on the position and the location of work. Most positions only take about 4 weeks to get started where some may take longer. Our staff will walk you through the entire process and assist you in starting your new position.

Will I have to interview with the military base?

You will interview with the recruiters at Luke for your position. Some Air Force bases request a phone consult upon hire whereas the Navy and Army traditionally will not. If an phone consult is requested by the base, your recruiter will facilitate this meeting.

What can I expect during the hiring process?

Our hiring process is very similar to other healthcare positions. You will first speak with one of our recruiting specialists. Once hired for the position, you will then be assigned to a credentialing specialist who will then ensure you meet certain requirements such as verification of credentials, immunizations, past work verification, work references, and completion of a background check. Once these requirements have been met, a start date will be determined.

What benefits does Luke offer their employees?

What are the dress requirements? Will I be required to wear a military uniform?

The dress requirements vary based on your position, but most positions require you to wear either medical scrubs or professional attire. You will not be required to wear a military uniform.
